    Hey I have an inquiry.

I want to know whether if I pay my contribution for Three months at once as a new user I’ll be able to start using it immediately. This’s someone who wasn’t registered in NHIF initially basically a new subscriber

Yes, as a new subscriber to SHA, if you pay your contributions for three months upfront, you will be able to start using the services immediately. SHA provides immediate coverage for emergency, chronic, and critical illnesses, even if you haven’t made any payments yet1. This means you and your family can access essential healthcare services right away.

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble logging in. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Check Your Credentials: Ensure that you’re entering the correct ID number and phone number used during registration.

Reset Password: If you’ve forgotten your password, use the “Forgot Password” option on the login page to reset it.

Clear Browser Cache: Sometimes, clearing your browser cache can help resolve login issues.

Try a Different Browser: If you’re still having trouble, try logging in using a different web browser or device.

Contact SHA Support: If none of the above steps work, you can contact SHA customer support for assistance. They should be able to help you troubleshoot the issue and regain access to your account.

I registered my son who is unemployed and has mental illness. Shock on me that he’s charged a premium of ksh 1030.00.

How is this even possible for unemployed Kenyan. Initially I was paying for him ksh 500.00 under NHIF.

I understand your concern. The SHA (Social Health Authority) has introduced a means-testing tool to determine the appropriate premium rates for individuals based on their socio-economic status. This tool considers various factors, including household income, expenditure patterns, and other socio-economic aspects1.

For unemployed individuals, the premium rates can vary, and in some cases, they may be higher than the previous NHIF rates due to the comprehensive coverage provided by SHA. However, there are subsidies available for those who qualify based on their income levels1.

It might be helpful to contact SHA customer support to discuss your son’s specific situation and see if there are any subsidies or adjustments that can be made to his premium rate
